12 Feb 10th Annual SoCal Cyber Cup Challenge – Feb 16
Sentek Global, a leading provider of IT and cybersecurity services to the department of defense, NDIA San Diego Chapter, California Cyberhub and National University are putting on the 10th Annual SoCal Cyber Cup Challenge with the finals on Saturday, February 16. c3 is once again proud to help promote this premiere cyber event.
There were over 400 middle school and high school students throughout Southern California (Imperial, San Diego, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties) participated in the qualification round this year and they have whittled them down to just 8 high school and 7 middle school finalists. All the teams utilized Haiku’s revolutionary, gamified, Cloud-based technology for an opportunity to defend simulated systems that are under a cyber-attack in a challenge to win the title of top team in Southern California. Who will take the trophy this year?
The SoCal Cyber Cup Challenge’s goal is to encourage students to learn about computer security threats by providing an educational venue in which students are able to apply the theories and practical skills they have learned, and foster a spirit of teamwork, ethical behavior and effective communication both within and across teams.
