28 Aug Special Doll Project to Help Children in Need with Rare Medical Conditions
This is a recent front page feature story we secured in The San Diego Union-Tribune (UT) as well as several national press outlets including MSN, on this wonderful community service project a young girl, Ariella Pacheco, did for her school. Our client Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, brought this to our attention and we formulated a public relations strategy to help tell her story and raise Fresh Starts profile, locally and nationally. Fresh Start provides free surgeries and other medical treatment for children in need whose families can’t afford it or whose insurance doesn’t cover cosmetic surgical procedures.
Ariella just wanted to give children with rare medical conditions something special. She go the idea from a magazine story she’d read about Milwaukee doll designer Amy Jandrisevits, whose “A Doll Like Me” project makes custom look-alike dolls for children with disabilities.
The story in the UT was really amazing. Read it here! We also secured feature stories on several of our TV outlets. We loved promoting this project and Fresh Start. They do such wonderful things for children and their families. lies. And the Fresh Start patients loved the dolls that resembled them. Calls since have come over from across the US for other people who want to help make more dolls.
