11 Apr SD Police Foundation – Friends of the Badge – June 6
The San Diego Police Department has made community policing a top priority as being an engaged and active partner in the community. They are a nation-wide role model and will be celebrated at the San Diego Police Foundation’s Friends of the Badge event on June 6 from 10:30 – 1:30 at the San Diego Convention Center. This event truly brings the community together one-to-one with officers and is an experience like no other. You can register for this special event here.
San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman and “America’s Finest” officers will be at this year’s Luncheon. Police technology, equipment, K9 dogs and Police vehicles (including the SWAT command Bear Cat), will on display for the pubic to see — and meet SDPD officers too.
The San Diego Police Foundation is a non-profit that aims to ensure those who protect and serve have what they need to do their jobs safely and with excellence. Community support of the Police Foundation helps provide the funding for much-needed equipment, training and outreach programs in support of a safer San Diego. The Foundation fills the gap of funding for the SDPD where city funds run short. This event will bring elected officials, community and business leaders and citizens together to support the mission of the Foundation and raise monies for needed equipment and resources for SDPD, which makes it that much more important!
